Year Three: Holy Shit Time Flies
by: Punchinello, Jan/04/06
I've been spending a lot of time doing things other than writing for... or even paying attention to... Pulp Erotica. The last complete story I wrote was 11 months ago. I don't even have the time to properly edit and create cover art for some of the submissions I get.
But, hey, this isn't a blog. Nobody should be coming here for updates on which Congressman is going to be indicted next. Hell, most you aren't even from the United States, so you wouldn't give a crap anyway. We've got dozens of complete stories and hundreds of delightful excerpts to keep you entertained. Of course, some of you also don't even speak English (I see your translation site hits, you cheeky wee monkeys), but there are always the pictures of the pretty girls in distress to look at.
What's in store for this year?
Well, I'm glad I pretended you asked (actually, Seasick did ask). This year, I really plan to write some more stories. I've got a couple I've had on a back burner for a long time now, and there's really no excuse for them not be completed ("Blonde Squaw" and "My Nature Girls"). I've also had some polite clamoring for the completion of a couple of excerpts in particular ("Blast in the Past" and "Payoff in Panties") that I really liked myself and have a pretty good idea of how to complete. (A lot of "excerpts" are really not wholly formed ideas, even, let alone fully outlined storylines.)
If you're thinking of submitting a contribution to the site, please do! Try to be sure that you understand how English fiction is written and what the different punctionation keys on the keyboard are for. Seriously. And here are some tips if you're short of ideas.
For this year, I’d like to publish more crime stories, especially detective stories, but personally I have a hard time thinking of a murder victim as sexy. I’ve been watching some film noir to get some ideas about how to get a detective involved with the girl before she winds up dead or else make her husband or someone else the victim. I’d also love to see more science fiction stories. If any of the “excerpts” on the site happen to interest you, feel free to mention that you'd like to develop them yourself.
And I find the site is still lacking some cracking good adventure yarns, where a daring treasure hunter travels to exotic locales to fight monsters and Nazis and bed alluring beauties. Altho I think of the character I want to portray as something like Indiana Jones, it’s James Bond that is my real model. That’s the only character I can think of that traveled around the world and casually swept women off their feet. If that makes any sense to you and you can develop it, then have at it.
